How to Exfoliate

If you want your skin to look healthy and lucent, exfoliate regularly. Exfoliating the skin cosmetically is the enactment of removing dead skin cells from the top layer of the epidermis. It also helps in boosting the blood circulation. Exfoliating your skin regularly is good for your skin as it fares the layers of dead cells and gives your skin more of a healthy glow. It is also a good thing to do before you apply a fake tanning lotion.

Apply an exfoliating cleanser especially designed for faces to the loofah or sponge. Many exfoliating cleansers contain up to 25 percent pumice, and these should never be used on the face. Try an exfoliating mask. Make one by mashing up a papaya and smirching it on your face. The enzymes help exfoliate the skin. Rinse off thoroughly after 15 minutes. Never overexfoliate with excessively abrasive exfoliating cleansers, or you run the risk of bursting the exquisite blood vessels under the skin. If the vessels collapse, your skin may appear permanently flushed. This condition, known as telangiectasia, must then be doctored using laser surgery. Exfoliation Cream, gels, or polishes having grains like oatmeal can be used for exfoliation to remove the dead skin, upon massaging in the skin.

A special buffing sponge can be used with a cleanser to remove dead skin and reduce dullness. Astringents can be used as gentle exfoliants if sparingly used. The exfoliators containing granules sometimes may abrade the skin. They should be applied on wet skin, following the directions written on the pack. They are convenient for those with normal or combination skin.

Mud baths and thermal wraps therapy cleanses, softens, exfoliates and inspires the skin simultaneously. Spas located throughout the world offer good choices. Apply the mask in a circular motion, massaging your face as you do so. Allow the mask to fully dry before you rinse it off. Use a damp washcloth to make sure that all of the mask has been removed. Apply lotion after you have finished.
