Dehydrated Skin

Dehydrated skin lacks water and cannot prosecute at its optimal level. It is dull, prosaic, its texture uneven with fine, dry surface skin lines. This can develop through moisture evaporation through the skin, through exposure to the outside environment (e.g., wind), and through prolonged exposure to water.

Surface dehydration is a mutilating enemy of the skin affecting up to 98% of the populations in varying degrees, and is associated with problems as diverse as scaly, taut skin, superficial lines and premature aging. Dehydrated skin can cause fine lines and creases to become more obvious, but there are ways of reversing these unwelcome appearances. There are a number of factors that can conduce to dehydrated skin, including environmental factors and exposure to central heating

A key factor in eliminating dehydrated skin is to find moisturizing products which have humectants to seal the moisture in. One of the major functions of the skin is to offer a barrier against moisture infiltration, and as hydrophobic fats in the horny layer constitute this barrier, wetting the epidermis does not allow moisture into the skin.

Regular use of scrubs can break down cell cohesion in certain skin types, that reduces the capacity to regain moisture and places capillaries at risk. Alcohol based tonics effaced on skin remove sebum and act like strong cleansers. Specific illnesses may cause internal dehydration and ultimately affect the epidermis. Diuretics and many cold and flu remedies which dry up mucous have their side-effects on the skin’s surface.

Keeping your skin protected from the sun and trying to reduce exposure to centrally heated rooms will help keep your skin hydrated. Use products which have more water than oil; the aim is to replenish and lock moisture into your skin. Cosmetic oil is also good to use, but should be definite to night use, as it leaves a greasy residue on the surface of your skin.

Using an exfoliator at least three times per week helps remove dead cells and improves astuteness of nourishing treatments. Applying moisturiser helps to do just that. Prevent washing your face with soap and apply creams while your skin is somewhat moist. Natural oils are best for balancing the skin. Drink lots of fluids to resuscitate the damage of the body. Drinking coconut water is very benefecial for dehydrate skin.
