Applying eye shadow - How to Appy Eye Shadow

How to Apply Eye Shadow

First decide the color you want to use. Almond color is considered best for eye but using three to four color will look good only if they are mixed well.

Mix it well. There must not be any line which shows where the color starts or stops

Using a fine, blunt-ended brush, apply the base color eye shadow to the entire lid from inside to outside corner of the eye.

If u want to mix three to four colors, then use them.

Dark: Apply this on eyelids from lash line to the crease in the eyelid

Highlight: Apply this to brow bone and extend to the outer end of the brow. This is lightest color and usually gives a pearly finish.

Medium: Apply this just below the eyelid crease to the brow bone. You can even shade the entire lid with shade first.

Tips for applying eye shadow:

  • To give a smoky look to your eyes, prefer using dark colors, like blue, grey or black. Brush them at the outer corners and blend them well. Don't move further more than quarter inch away from your eye.
  • Check the eye shadow on the back of your hand before applying them to eyelids.
  • The color gets lighter as it stacks above the eyes
  • The different forms of eye shadow available are:
    • Loose powder
    • Liquids
    • Sticks
    • Pressed powders
    • Creams

Out of these, pressed powders are easiest to apply and creams are most difficult to apply.

  • Apply a lighter eye shadow color above your primary color and below your eyebrow.

EYE SHADOW FOR THE PARTY MAKE UP

Your eye shadow kit may contain 3 shadows-a very light shade(vanilla, very pale pink, beige, silver grey etc) which is the high lighter and which gives a light shimmer on the brow bone and highlights it. The box has two more shades of the same color.

1. Put the very light shade (high lighter) on the space beneath the brows up to the crease of the eye lid (leaving the eye lid)

2. Apply the medium shade on the upper eyelid only.

3. And the darkest shade on the crease of the eyelid that is the place almost in the middle of the total eye area-above the lashes and beneath the brows. Blend both the colors well.

4. With the tip of a fine brush, apply a little shadow beneath the eyes, along the lower lash line. Smudge it lightly to give your eyes a subtle, glamorous look
