What is Herpes Simplex ?

Herpes simplex is a general viral kind of infection which presents with localised blistering. It affects most people on one or more occasions during their lives. After each attack it ‘dies back' up the nerve fibre and enters the resting state again. There's no cure for herpes. In fact, once a person has been infected with the herpes virus, it's in the body forever. There are medications that can alleviate some of the discomfort that outbreaks cause.
