The cause of the Tinea Corporis is fungus. Spread from existing localized infection, e.g. feet, is not uncommon. Characteristic lesions are circular and sharply marginated with a erected edge. Scaling is a common but not constant finding. Lesions may also be eczematous, vesicular and pustular in nature.
